@stinks Saying I don’t decorate for Halloween is NOT incorrect. Whether it answers the poll question is another issue.
Generally, I enjoy lying on poll questions. It gives newscasters apoplexy when they have to explain their missed predictions. Here, though, I’m usually straight up. If I don’t give a Meh, I usually just don’t answer.
You’re late! Wherever I was the other day a girl was talking to her coworkers about wanting to put up her Christmas tree this weekend. And last week when I was at tractor supply the Halloween stuff was already shoved onto a couple of shelves and clearance tagged while Christmas was dominating the center of the store.
I think at this point you’re supposed to start decorating for Halloween after sweeping up the fireworks mess and picking up after the barbecue from the 4th of July.
Depends on what/ where I’m decoratin’ 'Cause if it’s inside & outside an almost abandoned two story mall with escalators, both stories, then I’d recommend maybe start at least May/ June, IF you already have some decoration pieces, lumber, tools, equipment, volunteers, etc. If it’s a Haunted Corn Maize (snickering), then even earlier, well, maybe, actually kinda varies, like real corn , hay bales , wood , faux corn , maybe different flavored/ colored candy corn mosaic’d onto walls throughout a guided maze, those kinds take different times even for planning like in a farmer’s field 🏟 vs a tiny home’s teeny pull down 3 ft high faux wooden deck vs even a maze using duck tape 🪩🪩 or chalk on a portion of a carport Maybe it’s a 365 day Holiday/ Event tree and even then, depends on the size of the tree could be a micro tree in a set of micro trees, each representing different holidays / events , which are kept displayed 24/ 7/ 365 OR is it shaping & decorating an edible cake to look like a hedge maze , AAARRRGGGHHHH, sorry, got stuck in mazes 🕹 Anyway, are costumes involved ? Skits/ plays/ music ? A larger than full sized Sleepytime Elmo with teddy bear , hand sewn, including bear , with teeny tiny catalogue pics but NO pattern or dress dummy takes WAY longer than a paper bag as the Unknown Comic 🛍 Oh, AND also depends on my mood or being HANGRY , those DEFINITELY count OR some years, I’ve just been there, done that, way too burned out , needing tlc 🩻, maybe somebunny or cats Oh, it, just get some cat toys & catnip , and pull down the shades, turn OFF the outside light , maybe make a “no solicitors” sign to post , gather hooman & cat treats , get comfy, use treats to get the cats , snuggle ️, & just watch something or read . Then, get over 50% off candy & baked goods & toothbrushes or pencils , & share those with friends 🧌& coworkers & random people as you encounter 'em. So, my new, final answer is November 1st or so or just not…
I don’t decorate specifically for Halloween, because our decor is spooky all year round.
Day of, taken down day after
The question wasn’t, “When do *you * decorate for Halloween?” so I’m afraid everyone who answered, ”
I don’t decorate for Halloween” is incorrect.

I usually put a pumpkin on porch about a week or two before Halloween.
Why not every day?
I decorate for fall, but people think it’s for Halloween.
